Old Bruce Wayne in a Batman Beyond movie would be pretty sick.

Or he would be the Old batman like in Alex Ross' Kingdom Come

Or some type of mash up. Old Broken Bruce Wayne mentoring Batman Beyond.

i would put returns on the same pedestal as 89, and in some ways is even better than it.

Batman's wings :wow:
The set design :whew:
The way it balanced fun action and morbid drama with a pitch black sense of humor :blessed:

EDIT: If you don't think Returns was better paced than '89 :heh:

by the way it just occurred to me, has anyone else ever attempt to tell an old man batman story that didn't have anything to do with dark knight returns??

like is dark knight returns the only way that story could be told? can't someone whip up something new?

they retold the origin didn't they? why can't someone cook up a new "final chapter"?

nah you lost breh. I thought you were gonna atleast ARGUE your point instead of droppinjg a tired post like that. I've never heard anyone outside of you call Batman Returns garbage. You probably liked the Schumacher films though huh :smugjamie:
I thought it was terrible also. I can't remember exactly why, I haven't seen it in a while, but I remember watching it and thinking it was awful. My cousin and brother loved it tho :yeshrug:

Off the top of my head, Kingdom Come and Batman Beyond are the only ones

Which actor capture the best essence of Bruce Wayne and his alter ego? In your opinion
Well I completely loved Keaton/Burton BATMAN as a Kid including Returns. Kilmer was Good as Batman but even as a Kid I noticed him better as Bruce Wayne than Keaton fir some reason but now I think that maybe that had something to do with how Dark Burton's Environment for Gotham was. I grew up on Conroy as a Kid too, i know we're not discussing him but Kevin had so much to Work with for an Animated Series and a couple of Movies too. I'm not going to mention Danny Ocean for obvious reasons lol soo.. Christian Bale definitely struck me as a Great Bruce Wayne and you can see it when he's pkaying up being a Playboy Billionaire in Gotham when under these Dangerous Times especially in TDK. He pkayed a Good Distraught Version of Bruce, his Batman was different from all of the others but it was what Nolan wanted. Dark, Gritty..now everyone is trying Dark & Gritty so when people say Oh Bale Sucked As Batman it just makes me :beli: but everyone has their own Opinion. Loved Bale as Batman but if I had to choose I'd have Bale play Bruce and Young Keaton play Batman of course with the Batsuit from TDK so he can turn his neck and with every Paul Dini stories that Kevin Conriy got to experience with.:whew:

maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan if we got a batman beyond movie AND keaton was playing old man bruce
idk how many times id go see that movie
batman
batman returns
batman beyond

looks good to me.

i think they would have to wait a few years until the current superhero movie wave starts to trend downwards, maybe a few years removed from the last movie featuring ben affleck as batman.

and then a few years later, after its been erased from everyone's collective consciousness for awhile...once that elfman theme comes on and that trailer hits... :whoo:

Say what you will about Returns.

But this scene was epic

Well until the penguins arrived :pachaha:

Still a dope scene.

That Batman turn :banderas:

Rarely can a death be "sad" while someone is still trying to kill the hero.

@MartyMcFly

Thoughts on if Alec Baldwin would have played Bruce Wayne/Batman and Keaton played the Joker.

Coming off the Beetlejuice hype....that probably would have been the more *obvious* move.

I still think Baldwin would have been perfect in that role. Shame his skills got wasted in "The Shadow"

Still Keaton was Boss as Batman imo. I did get Burton making Bruce Wayne a guy you'd never think could be Batman though.
