this was obviously very good, but I didn't care much for it. seemed to be your classic case of "style over substance," with virtuosic camerawork (Lubezki is one of the best in the game) that stood for very little. flashy, of course, and intended to wow, but to me the "single shot" presentation was more of a distraction than anything

script didn't do much for me, but the performances made up for that (credit to Inarritu's direction). I thought all the women were great...I'm not a huge Emma Stone fan, but she really brought it. probably my favorite performance in the film. will be worth another look at home

(I need a screencap of Keaton entering the liquor store :ohlawd:)

I haven't seen this movie, but I am really happy Michael Keaton is getting good reviews for this.

He is really a great actor, him and John Malkovich really need to honored for their work.

So what do you guys think happened there at the end? @flyry, @HHR, @Dwight Howard , @DosCadenaz, @RajWatts, @Sensitive Blake Griffin

Do you think he died? Did he truly transform into Birdman? Was that part in his head?

It just occurred to me that maybe this was his way of embracing the Birdman identity and figuratively killing the part of himself that hated Birdman. But then what's up with his daughter looking up at the sky?

My interpretation: After his career went downhill Riggan developed a mental illness (or "gift") that caused his hallucinations of Birdman. It becomes obvious he's imagining all the Birdman shyt after the 'flying' sequence when the cab driver chases him.

After the play Riggan commits suicide by jumping out the window. However his mental illness or 'gift' is then passed on to his daughter, so now she has her own hallucinations of 'Birdman' flying

Definitely the most unique film this year. I wished Norton da gawd part was bigger. He stole it every time on screen. Loved the camera work. Was confused by the ending. SPOILER: Wasn't sure if the film trying to communicate that was in his head or this niguh really was a superhero. The cab scene makes me think it was fantasy but I can't say for certain.Spoiler

Is Emma Stone somebody y'all go crazy over. Her skinny arms was a real turn off but I know how this board is. If so, smh. I don't see it.

My main issue with this though was the cliche love stuff. The lesbian scene was so obvious and badly written. Same with the older man, younger man "love scene". Just so obvious how it was done.

But back to the ending
i honestly thought this was gonna end up with this niguh dreaming all this up. Him being Birdman and losing all his fortune. .And he was actually crazy. Or he was gonna shoot that critic woman. Her being a symbolism of society or something like that. Or at least beat up Noron again for banging his daughter
I give this a A-. Favorite Oscar movie so far. Didn't see Bucharest Hotel yet so really can't say.

saw it last night

the movie is hot fire :ohlawd:

There were some flaws, like the prego scene and lez scene.

Ed trying to rape was :scust:

Movie is fire tho. Keaton was cast perfectly in this.

Best movie ive seen this year.

Man, him n Norton absolutely killed their roles. When Keaton was cryin talking to his wife I shed a tear myself and I'm not even a father
what blew my mind was that they were acting in a play within a movie while they were acting in a movie...really showed off Norton and Keaton's acting chops..camerawork is literally the best you'll find in film, emma stone gets my dikk hard, I'd totally do coke with her and let her slob on my knob.
