Me and my husband go to the movies all the time. Your wife doesn't like going?
no :mjcry:

at least the window to home release is only 3 months these days.

I've already seen all my most anticipated movies this year though.. the other ones i'll check out to prepare for the oscars :manny:

My fiancé rarely likes to go see movies because it's all movies I pick. Which is fair otherwise we go see The Purge. But I'm starting to up her taste I hope lol.
I usually only go to the theaters for blockbusters because those I don't gotta really analyze or see why it's Oscar worthy because blockbusters usually aren't. I see movies like Dallas Buyers club birdman or others at home

Hubby and I saw this last night and were blown away! The acting, script, and cinematography were excellent and the philosophical questions it grappled with and raised were so well done. And the way the movie mirrors Keaton's celebrity was just:ohlawd:. We stayed a half an hour after credits just talking about it. Loved it and will rewatch it again soon.

5 out of 5:salute:

So what do you guys think happened there at the end? @flyry, @HHR, @Dwight Howard , @DosCadenaz, @RajWatts, @Sensitive Blake Griffin

Do you think he died? Did he truly transform into Birdman? Was that part in his head?

It just occurred to me that maybe this was his way of embracing the Birdman identity and figuratively killing the part of himself that hated Birdman. But then what's up with his daughter looking up at the sky?

I think he transformed into birdman, but I don't really understand the deeper meaning of that right now but i took it like that because of how emma stone was looking up towards the sky and smiled

I like the idea that he some how really transformed but I'm still not sold on that. I'd love to know what the writer meant by the last scene.

I don't think there is an ending, as odd as that sounds lol. Im not sure there is anything to solve, rather that it's entirely ambiguous and open-ended by design.
That said, I think that IF he died, it was on the roof the first time, before the opening night performance. And in that scenario, the final 25 minutes are his fantasy of achieving ultimate success, including the apartment reconciliation with and overall happiness of his daughter.

it reminded me of some shyt nolan would do

he could also actually be dead. I'm really not sure, I think we'll have to rewatch the movie and analyze it a little more for clues.

I don't think there are clues. I don't think the end can be "figured out". You may change your mind, or change what you want the end to be, but I don't believe there's a right answer.

I don't think there's any way to know. There was sirens at the end so it's possible he died and his daughter is just smiling at him being free in a sort of sick way I guess. But for all I know she didn't see him on the ground and he transformed. An all his powers like the telekinesis was real.
