Just based off that Superfly trailer

1. I've seen strippers before
2. I've seen pimps before (and done better)
3. I've seen nikkas get shot at
4. I've seen nikkas who are jealous of other nikkas so they wanna get that other nikka out the paint
5. I've heard a Future song before
6. Snoop Dogg's hair in the The Next Episode video is the best laid hair I've ever seen on a nikka, you can't top it
7. Director X is an adult with both a first and a last name - I suggest he use it from here on out lest he find himself relegated back to music videos
8. I despise protagonist VO, it's rarely works
9. Don't stand on a fukking rooftop and survey your city - I know what you think it means, but it doesn't mean anything



I literally don't need to see this movie. I don't like seeing things I've seen before.

I mean, no bullshyt, the Migos & Drake video is an infinitely more interesting and creative piece of art than this movie will be, but you know what sucks?

Eventually when the nikka who directed that video gets to make a movie, it's gonna look more like Superfly 2.0 than the Migos video.

This may sound fukked up, but if I were Italian, I might have an issue with the glut of mob movies or mob television shows because they're only showing one part of my culture. Which is how I feel as a black man seeing more Superfly, especially one that looks like it was shot in someones backyard.

I'm all about more black people in television and movies but I also want new stories and quality product as well. Tyler Perry does his thing, he has his audience and they love him. But I don't see every Tyler Perry flick because it's not my thing

You're right. And I gave my opinion on this because I was asked. Had I not been asked, I wouldn't have said shyt. I've got no desire to see it and I said why. But at the same time, I don't fault anyone for saying how they feel because that's what happens on this board. There's an announcement, then a trailer, and nikkas come and applaud or bytch depending on how they feel. And they go from there. This movie being Superfly won't change that behavior
