They should be encouraging young black boys across the nation to join the police force so the people protecting our communities look like us

They need to form some kind of real relationship with local law enforcement. Antagonizing all of them does nothing to serve anyone

All of this shutting down freeways, hijacking parades, crashing political rallies, screaming at the general public, screaming on college campuses and hash tagging all day is doing is burning potential allies to the point where even a lot of other black people don't want to be associated with that organization but they don't care as long as they can be on camera and be in the spotlight

honestly, I just read their website for the first time based on this post.

And I think you're right.

It mentions how BLM was started because of Trayvon Martin/Zimmerman....then it slides, outta nowhere, into talking (rather passive aggressive criticism) about how straight black men are at the front of movements, and insults the traditional efforts of the past of Black ppl supporting Black.

I mean, if your movement is based on Martin/Zimmerman, Freddie Gray, Eric Garner, Rice, etc....I don't see the need to slip in that agenda about gender. While I agree that all should be treated equally regardless of whatever, but so often these agendas do exactly what they're fighting against.
