This is why "its just music" or "bu...bu...but Al Pacino" doesnt fly. Street shyt has become the default go to in black culture...its fukkin aspirational for those that are young and impressionable. There is no room for a square just being square...although most of us are. Square dont mean nerd...it means not in the street game. But now actual squares take it as a diss. Thug used to be an insult...now its a compliment. Beyond young dudes trying to portray this image to rap, you got dudes that come from good families that have legit opportunities throwing it away to get caught up in this street bullshyt.

“The house wasn’t 20,000 square ft, not even 15. It was more like 12,000 sq ft.”

Nah, its peer pressure. You get around nikkas that didn't have it growing up and they question your manhood & blackness so you do stoopid shyt like Michael Irving's son does to gain approval.

That's why it's important to read and study black history as a kid especially in the burbs.
This. I would add that some middle class black parents will give their kids speeches about how being from the hood made them stronger, or more of a man..... and then tell their kids they have it easy. ...what is the kid supposed to take away from that ?

Never understood these types of people. I wonder what the motivation is, in assuming it's women and fame because otherwise, why not go to school or open a business with your pops

It can’t be women and fame because he’s still an unknown rapper. The only reason we heard about him is because his dad was clowning him.
He’d probably be in a better position if he used his father’s money to start a business or went to school and got good 9-5.

Biggie grew up in a decent home but in a bad overall area.. especially if you in the same school district as the other bad neighborhoods. If you can walk outside and in 2 minutes be in the worst part of town, sleeping a nicer house than the others doesnt really do much for the mental if you still walk outside and see crack heads and crime every second

This kid though, hes trippen, he had everything. Nice schools, housing, neighborhoods, rich famous family, etc. No excuse for this bull shyt

Ehh, that's NYC in general. A million dollar home could be 5-10 blocks away from the hood. Parental guidance and children following that still supersedes all
