According to ESPN Stats & Info’s NBA Draft Projection Model, Johnson is projected to have a statistical plus/minus of 0.68 in years 2 through 5 of his NBA career. Statistical plus/minus is an estimate of a player’s contribution to his team’s point differential per 100 possessions. An SPM of zero is considered league average (weighted for minutes), and replacement level players have an SPM of about -2.

The projection model calculated the likelihood of a player to fall into one of four categories: Superstar, Starter, Role Player and Bust. There are generally one superstar, 10 starters and 25 role players who come out of each draft class. The projections for Johnson are as follows:

Superstar: 6.8 percent

Starter: 42.4 percent

Role Player: 27.9 percent

Bust: 23.0 percent

I take it that you can't possibly use Mario Chalmers for a trade for a big?

I don't think Chalmers has value, but if a team wants to give up a 2nd rounder for him, I'll take it.
Point is that Mario and Cole shouldn't be on this team, when we have cheaper and arguragly better options(Shabazz, Tyler Johnson).

Yeah, he's .68

Basically the general idea is that, he has low bust potential, well him and Winslow

Man lol fukk this analytics shyt had me not able to determine if they projected him good or bad because the .xx guys weren't even on that chart...

I don't think he will be a bust he will be productive only a question of how productive.

Riley must do what he has to do to resign Wade.

I understand giving Wade a big payday may mean losing WhiteSide to limitations of the Heat not having "Byrd rights" to WhiteSide. Because of that they can only give him 106% of what he's making now which would be about $6M next year.

We're doomed to pay the price for trading all those draft picks away but lets not lose our identity trying to make up for past transactions

If I have to stand alone on this I'll do so, I've held back on commenting several times the past few weeks but I'm done giving Wade a pass. If I'm Riley I'm not doing anything to jeopardize being able to retain Whiteside next offseason. Give Wade a fair offer (I'm thinking 15-17 a yr/max), if he doesnt want it then fine. At the end of the day he had the option to make 20 mil the next 2 years and his loyalty to his friend over his team cost him. Now after sitting out 20 games (half of them he very well could have played) he wants the big payday :mjlol: If LeBron last summer did half the shyt Wade has been doing this past month with regards to social media everyone in here would want him in the bushes. Having your wife and kids do your bidding on twitter and snapchat, you posting subliminal messages on instagram..that's just corny and it speaks to the kind of guy Wade has become.

THIS doesnt come around everyday and I think the sky is the limit for him

I have no doubt Whiteside will get his money. The bigger issue is Dragic, dude's a top 10 pg, but they're talking about giving him Chris Paul money.

Breh, I was gonna put borderline, but for our sake......
:russ:

truthfully I think all of us just want to see what Wade, Bosh, Whiteside, Dragic, and Deng can do together. hopefully we get to see.

I would think Wade would settle for 54 mil over 3 years. load up the 1st year to the max i think 22 mil then divide the rest of the next 2 years. beg him to let the last 2 years be player options where he can opt out, let us sign Whiteside and then resign Wade giving the team SOME flexibility.

Im not saying pay Wade $20M. I'm sure $15M-$17M is more than fair.

Yeah Wade's camp leaked out that he would welcome $20M but he probably saying this in hoPes of getting about $15M to $17M. Remember people tipically set the price high and meet in the middle.

But it almost looks like Riley doesnt even wanna give him $15M after next year. Riley wants him to stay with the current contract which pays him $16M next year and then take a much smaller 1 year deal after depending on that they can fit under the cap. Because as it stands Riley cant go over the cap to resign WhiteSide.

If the Heat is over the cap when Whiteside is a free agent all they could offer him is $6M, period. Wade knows if he doesnt get his money now he will likely not get it next year when Whiteside gets paid and forget it if we are able to bring in another big name.
