Marriage is supposed to be “sanctimonious”. The reason so many marriages are fucced up now is because
of people like her that think it isn’t. If you do view it as sanctimonious, then you are more likely to:

A) select who you marry more carefully
B) work any problems that come up during your marriage instead of leaving (and being proud of serially leaving)
C) not be hoe/hoefessional before you get married, so you don’t have to lie to the dude who did want to marry you

You know what else is just “paperwork”? A paycheck.
It is literally just a piece of paper…but it represents something else.
And, it is something that is set apart just for you…which is exactly what it means for something to be “sanctimonious”.
