Yup, they stole the whole culture of low riding as a purely Mexican invention. Brehs had car clubs back in the early 50s in Compton and surrounding black neighborhoods - in fact we invented the term “low rider.” They didn’t call them low riders until brehs stepped on the scene and brought that swag to the car game.

Mexicans always had hotrods from the 40s, but brehs took the shyt to another level starting in the late 50s. From there Mexicans learned about the style and fully adopted all the shyt brehs were doing in the 70s - so much so they “claim” it as a purely Mexican invention. When in reality it was a multi-racial invention with significant contributions from brehs. The dude to first install hydraulic pumps on his car was a white dude working for aerospace in LA.
