i'm speaking to those Wu singles that had them the absolute hottest, most refreshing new act in hip hop since the class of '88. Bring The Pain is the epitome of a perfect lead single to set up a superstar. It's better than Snoop's 'What's My Name'...

50 came the closest with In Da Club but Meth means more.

Tical being a "let down' is in light of impossible odds set by that single and the groundswell.....plus def jam rushing it, the flood etc.

but listen to Tical today and tell me every song isn't committed to memory and still banging. the album is a theme or skit riddled presentation away from being a grand slam.

you get the Gravediggaz/Rzarector/Cralton Fisk , 100,000,000 members all with skills vibe beautifully.

Deck kills Sandman. C. Fisk has one of the illest verses ever from an mc that ended up in jail instead of the source, what the blood clot is a perfect method man song....even 'stimulation' bangs with early 90's vintage back for the first time flavor....like Dirty reciting Genius verses from his first album.

I can't say that it was a great album... it was definitely good tho'. Meth was way harder on himself about it than he should have been. He felt it was the weakest of the early Wu solos, and he might be right, but it wasn't wack by any means. It just could've used more 'Bring The Pain'-type heavy hitters and less aiiiite shyt like 'Stimulation' and 'I Get My Thang In Action'.

that's a def jam/bad boy cash grab

true Wu fiends were cool with it bit off that....enter 'Brooklyn Zoo' and you have a true WU moment.

Bring The Pain & Brooklyn Zoo are the two most organic WU moments past 36 chambers.

i just think Shimmy Shimmy Ya plays better as a single.

I agree, though Brooklyn Zoo is a top 5 track from any Wu member to me. I played that dub till it popped. Bring the Pain is my fav Meth song. Just too gutta :wow:

ODB's verse reversed :wow:

I ways give him extra props because him and Rza were the first to break from Wu convention.

Ghost perfected it but Ason birthed it.

What about 'All I Need' with Mary though? Isn't that still the most successful Wu single?

:lawd: To this day, everytime I hear that reversed verse :krs: it's like I'm on the same drugs RZA was on when he did that. :wow:

Dirty was my favorite soloist, but I think i'll take "Daytona 500" over every other solo single.

on wax,...

it is easily brooklyn zoo.

as brooklyn zoo was a definitive artist single.

where you got a clear,..well albeit, everclear mixed with vodka type of distinction.
as to what defined ol dirty was as an artist.

plus brooklyn zoo was also the best actual physical single.

made for purchase of any incarnstion or format for the wu tang, as an overall collective.

as a cd single it featured definitive big baby jesus art and direction pictorials.

plus as an added bonus if you copped the vinyl, as well.

you got another classic artist defining record along with brooklyn zoo for ol dirty.

in the form of the give it to you raw, the sd50 mix as well.

http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_...x?&desktop_uri=%2Fmobile#/watch?v=o9JrCPKJ0Sw

which to this day is the best artist defining b-side ever released in wu tang continuity as well.

as give it to you raw the sd50 mix.

could also be the best artist distinguishing single of that generation production wise in 96.

as it was a type of remix that featured coherent honed spazz moments.

only found on select artifacts/w busta rhymes, redman or common remixes.
that were actually few and far between from a once forgotten era.

not to mention, this twelve featured another gem as well on vinyl, if i remember right!

i salute brooklyn zoo,...

one of the best twelve inch artist defining singles ever released in rap history!!
