Metal Slug vs Contra... Which old school series did you like better?

It had better music and was more challenging

Metal slug was challenging as well but it felt very cheap, it was an arcade game and the point was to eat up as much quarters as possible

Metal slug i find playing those games a stress reliever, sometimes you just feel the need to shoot anything that moves while leveling all sorts of buildings in your way

This is close but It looks like Metal Slug is going to win this one.

I was reading around the internet about some of these old school arcade games and was surprised to see that "Ikari Warriors"(1986) came out a whole year before "Contra"(1987). I always though Contra came out first but it makes since because "Ikari Warriors" was based on the "Rambo" movies from the early 80's while Contra was based on the movie "Aliens" that came out in 1986.

Anyway... while I was reading I came across a old school Run n gun game I haven't seen in a long ass time... do any of you OG's on here remember the NES game "Rush’ N Attack"(1985) from Konami?

Love the art style of Metal Slug but those games suffered tremendously from quarter eater gameplay...Bosses would start spamming an asinine amount of projectiles...

Contra is the father, Contra III was so dope



But over all metal slug is the better series

Only thing I dont like is the ones where u end up fighting aliens, i do like the zombie fighting stages tho
