Threads’ daily active user count is down 82% from launch as of July 31

On its launch day, Threads users opened the app an average of 14 times and spent an average of 19 minutes scrolling through it, the company reported.

As of August 1, Threads’ daily average time spent fell to just 2.9 minutes a day, and people spent only 2.6 sessions per day using the app

This shyt will be shut down by the end of the year. There isn't enough room for another social media platform

They should have just made this a new IG feature

With text posting...it becomes a reskin of Facebook, lol. And the only difference is that people use IG to be seen and discovered because it started as social media and not a network of people you knew in real life.

And now in days Facebook through videos and reels has ways to get public attention.

Thing is you need regular people building a culture....and those people may be on mastadon and blue sky. People looking for cash grabs, virality and clout like many celebrities, influencers, brands etc... isn't a good building block. In 2023 a new platform attracts those people because early adopters of past platforms blew up....and when done like threads you create a culture of people trying to go viral and no culture.

theres plenty of room especially if they make their site more accessible to non-registered users and devs like twitter use to be.

Then what would be the difference between FB and IG? Just the design?...lol.
FB is slowly dying so they could still do it. plus it's not really like twitter. maybe Facebook has news now. I actually don't have one anymore.
plus there was a study that said almost all of meta/Facebook inventions fail unless they're baked into instagram because instagram is their greatest product
