Romance isn’t a man showing a woman he barely knows that he loves her. Romance is to woo a woman into wanting to get to know you and eventually trusting you enough to spread her legs.

And because a baby is the result of her spreading her legs— technically you shouldn’t be able to do that if you aren’t committed to her and committed to providing for the child that she will birth.

Pleeeeenty of couples who have been married forever who say their partners don’t do romantic things for them anymore after so many years of marriage. Not necessarily because they don’t love each other anymore, but because they did those things in the beginning to show and prove and secure their partner.

Waaaaaaaay back when marriages were arranged so that families could unite, there was no romance. Go to other regions of the world right now that are still doing arranged marriages- there’s no crazy romance or courtship for those young ladies; the man has already been selected so he doesn’t need to convince or woo her. Of course he should love and respect her, but he didn’t have to go through the effort to woo and gain her attention and trust; he had to convince her father, not her.

Romance was a tool for the man who didn’t have the same means/money as another suitor. It was also used to woo wealthy married women who were trapped in loveless marriages. Secret love letters that were exchanged between an artist, poet, or man/woman locked in an arranged marriage, etc.

That being said- of course I appreciate romantic gestures as much as the next woman, but it’s important to know why we have cultural customs.

None of what you said negates my point. I don't care about the why, I'm simply stating what is. Women do not romance men or love men more sincerely than men do women. It's not even close. All of what you said regarding it being solely about vagina is also really trivializing men's attraction to women when it's much more nuanced than that.

A woman in this day and age is incapable of loving a man because they dont love themselves. What do you expect when your role in life is to naturally be a follower. .Cats talking about rosters nope the women these days are like expansion team players,you get the leftover no one wants. Yea and when that woman is old if she’s single or widowed there isn’t some line of ppl ready to love her unconditionally


Women’s intrinsic value is tied to our youth and fertility. A random 50yo woman walking around isn’t getting the same attention or care that a random 20YO would inspire in men.

Women’s shelters wouldn’t be full all across this country/world if women were so damn valued


Ask a fat woman walking around town how valued she feels for “just being who she is” About as valued as a broke dude.


No one is valued just for merely existing. There’s something tied to your existence. Either it’s a woman who is still attractive and able to birth kids or a man who is able to provide.

I will say one thing I do agree with is that most men gain absolutely nothing from the women they are with. Pretty much every man I know would be better off lifestyle/financially WITHOUT their woman. As much shyt as a lot of women talk about being independent etc. Etc. they are nothing but liabilities and burdens most of the time, even if they have a good job themselves.

im in my first long term relationship and it has been a tough pill for me to swallow reconciling my love for my girl with the fact that she isnt bringing half of what i bring, and having to accept someone poorer, not as neat and not as capable into my living space has been eye opening, My inner pragmatist is in shambles.
