You already answered your question. When I got married I couldn't wait to make her my wife. This dude is holding back for some reason, I would guess that his heart really isn't in it.

Why marry her if you don't want it why spend so much money to get a ring?? Help me make sense cuz that's alot to not want to marry her.

Because he may want to still be with her, but just isn't sold on getting married. There is a level of finality when it comes to getting married, and for some it can be pretty scary. Getting her the ring bought him some time, and kept her from wandering off.

Would you walk away if you were her??

He's playing her. Any man that is serious will propose and work to make the marriage happen. Let's not forget that there are shady people in this world, and he can just be stringing her along until he figures out his next move. Engaged for 2 years...:heh:!

I don't know what his endgame is, but this arrangement is sus. She needs to drop an ultimatum on him or just bounce.

Grown women haven't figured this out yet? Emotions are a mf :wow:

I understand the sentiment but as someone told ME before "you deserve what you tolerate".

If she's willing to be jerked around to the point where this question is being asked, she has a choice to make. Take control of her life or continue to wonder why her Big Day isn't coming up :yeshrug:

Some people like the idea of a long engagement for a deeper vetting ... maybe his pockets aren't right... perhaps he could be legit worried about COVID-19. But in this case, personally if I ask someone to marry me, then I've done enough vetting to where I don't have doubts about the woman as a partner, and if she was willing to go for it I'd go ahead down to the courthouse and get it donezo without the fanfare. Men have their processes but I'm of the belief that IN GENERAL, if the woman is the right one, the man will not HESITATE to take her smooth the fukk off the market. I don't think a man needs that long to determine if someone has wife potential. The time aspect may come in for stacking up for the wedding or whatever.

It's likely he has some doubts. Or maybe... he's taking his sweet ass time because she's allowed him to skate by. To your earlier point, if she's been doing the planning and all that and he keeps coming back with new shyt, she just needs to come on out and ask what the fukk they're doing. If she doesn't like the answer, cut bait and find someone who is.

But curious if you knew ur is girl ain't shyt....wouldn't u say something?

If roles were reversed and my breh was getting the runaround from his lady, I'd let him know that after a certain point, you need to see where her head is at and whether or not this is still going down. After that, I'd fall back.

Wait - what does her man think? Did you listen?
You just glossed over what he thinks like it doesn’t matter…and if she agrees with what her man thinks,
then why are upset?

Covid is a pretty good “excuse”, because it’s some chit we’ve never seen before that has changed
everybody’s lives and people are dying by being in large groups like say, weddings.

“but on Facebook...”

Fucc Facebook. In the ass.
It’s the same muthafuccers on Facebook doing dumb chit like that that has set record numbers of
Covid cases reported since things started opening back up.

What’s the real problem here? You don’t think your friend can keep her man?
