That's always the hilarious part that I try to tell dudes why they shouldn't get so frustrated about stuff like this. Behind every woman that's on that strong and independent wave. There's a group of dudes in orbit that are financing different parts of her life to keep her afloat and that strong and independent image intact lolSingle mothers are not providing by themselves

Almost every single mother I know is out here down bad.
Typically relying on their family or living at their job, like LIVING at their
job to support themselves.
Now imagine you're a man with dependents AND a whole ass wife to take care of.
You're about to sacrifice everything for them, so you better hope you have a SOLID ass wife.

They mythicize single motherhood because they know their character and decision making is leading them down that path, and they must pretend it'll be alright. Single motherhood is one of the most financially and emotionally destructive positions to be in. Especially in an era where many states that black people live in have heavily restricted welfare, and even if you get qualified you're juggling aid VS getting a (slightly) better job and losing eligibility.
The idea that single mothers are largely out here doing fine and making a way on their own has never really been true in any decade. AND if we go further....they don't even want to date the men who are capable of providing on a working or middle class basis because that's not good enough. Mind you this isn't all women. It's a very loud segment of (largely black) women online saying insane shyt while normal people (black, white, Hispanic etc) get married and combine incomes all the time. People gotta understand these convos aren't happening in real life for most people. And if you hear it in real life? Run away.

I dont see how this thread full of men would disagree with that. Yes,men are capable of supporting their woman and or/child.

Why are y’all acting like child support is a full month’s income? And every man with a kid isn’t on child support. A lot of men just provide material things, or pay for karate, ballet, soccer, etc.
Why aren’t more men going to court to be the primary caretaker if it’s that easy? And let’s be real, a lot of us were raised in single black mother households. Was it easy for your mother?
