What happened to this young man is sad. He may as well have just pulled up in the wrong hood at a red light. These are just street dudes with a badge. They aren't trying to impress their white superiors, this is who they are. I guess it's fortunate they were the police because if they didn't have a badge they'd still be out doing shyt like this, and worse, and no one would bat an eye. The police do a great job at showing us what the worst of society can look like because they often draw from the worst of society. My question is this; when are we going to put more focus on that pool in which they draw from?

I don't know if these officers were regular patrolmen or part of one of those gang/vice/drug taskforces but police officers who deal with violent and disgisting criminals/areas should not be allowed to perform routine traffic stops or engage with civilians without warrants. They are just too violent and can't be trusted to have civil interactions without escalations.

Then they would have to acknowledge that thier police aren't well-equipped mentally and not trained to handle de-escalating.

Imagine them admitting that some of their forces are too unstable to deal with law-abiding civilians. In an ideal world, there would be severe backlash.

there has to be.... and approximate to it all too. that first cop saw how stupid shyt was about to get and made space.

i feel that whole group has a ton of history to get that type of cushion immediately over a traffic stop of all things
