The Yankees are easily the most recognizable franchise in sports, that's not to sell the Lakers short, NBA is progressively getting more and more global so of course the Lakers, Celtics, Bulls, and etc will grow even larger with the franchise's recognition which is already incredibly recognizable.
As for Real Madrid, as an American it's true we really don't give a shyt about soccer for the most part..................... but the rest of the world does and Real Madrid is incredibly well known, same as Manchester United. I ain't even a soccer fan but you hear of them all the damn time.
