SRS said there was a 49% chance the hyped signing for AEW was Mercedes. Here's the issue. She doesn't talk to the sheets. She's never talked to the sheets. They have no idea what all the reasons were for why she left WWE. They have no idea what her actual injury is or when she's ready to return. The only information they had on her NJPW/Stardom deal is from what she personally released.

It's been on record decades now Meltzer got almost everything wrong reported at the time about WCW, WWE wrestlers have clowned about feeding him bad info for years, if a billionaire's son didn't grow up on his dweeb message boards alongside him, it's hard seeing him be relevant in any fashion since it's clear he's got nothing in WWE

Had no legit info about companies closing, no info about the WWE sale, only the biggest stories ever in his own field. So yeah if he's supposed to be a journalist he's catastrophically laughable

Meltzer at one time used to get all the backstage news from WWF/WWE. Even up to a year or two ago he'd have all the information on who would be revealed as a surprise or who was facing who at the next PPV and even who was going over.

But I don't think he has sources anymore. He don't know shyt. SRS has more sources now but even he gets shyt wrong all the time.

Yes now it's easier to be a contributor for these publications now. Not when he was a full time writer for Frank Deford's newspaper the National 30 years ago. So again yes his wrestling takes are garbage and bs to feed his sub base. That's not my argument. The National has not existed since like 1991 or some shyt. I don't think the act of having a semi-regular (looks like he does recaps every couple of months) column with SI (which does not carry the cachet it did previously) makes him any more credible than SAS and Skip.
