They got booed because the show was wack. But as soon as they did their normal dx thing and the pieces were back together the fans were cheering again. Context is key even tho that apparently doesn’t mean shyt around these parts.
And you’re not the only one who’s been watching for years. It doesn’t matter what the die hards or purist say because ultimately this company controls the narrative. Yes there will be pockets of people who disagree and there will always be wrestling forums but at the end of the day, a casual fan or a kid is going to believe what’s in front of them rather than some person on the internet they’ve never met.
That’s like saying based on YouTube comments and down votes, the call of duty game from two years ago should’ve been a terrible seller and moved no units or systems since the purist and the internet hated the trailer. But that’s not what happened.

Seriously though - I can't see a way where he comes back to have a match with the idiot daughter and the doofus son-in-law.
This makes 4 main events and counting. Nak v AJ, Brock v Roman, Asuka v ? and now potentially this. Mania is about to be 12 hours long. Gonna have people camping out in the Superdome like Katrina all over again.
This should be the main event that way I don't have to watch it. Get the real show out the way and let these guys close it out. I'm not really interested in watching a 30 minute intro and 30 minute match from 4 people who really don't wrestle.
I'd love to see Rousey recruit Punk for a one-off and headline Wrestlemania 34 vs Steph & HHH (meaning the last match)

Y'all put too much weight on the UFC loss. As Cornette once put it: "Shawn Michaels is 0 for life in real life fights" and that didn't hinder his credibility at all. I ain't an HBK fan, and while I get a kick out of him getting his ass beat by Bret or a marine, I know that doesn't mean anything in a television program and can recognize his value.
Most who fixate on that are people who don't like Punk for other reasons. Everyone has seen the still image after the fight, as well as the fight itself. It's been four years since he left and crowds are still chanting his name. Who else has that ever happened for? He's been gone for almost as long as Shawn was, and nobody was checking for Shawn like that.
By this point everyone has made up their mind about Punk, and nothing someone says in a worked shoot is gonna change minds.
Dana just said he is giving Punk another fight, so maybe Punk can change some minds, but even if he doesn't, his stock with WWE will remain intact. Man's impact is undeniable.
