I like how people base everything on statistics while ignoring shyt like DEFENSE and how Butler/Kawhi/etc mostly shyt on Melo's defense. he actually has improved in recent years, but he's nowhere near their level on defense.

But their defense isn't infinitely better, to say that it overshadows everything else he is doing on the court.

He's a better passer, better ballhandler, better scorer, better rebounder. So how are they "All-Around better". Honestly, Kawhi & Butler aren't better than Mike Finley was. And there's nothing in Kawhi's game that says he's elite. He's not gonna put a team on his back, Butler either. Paul George, maybe but he's still not better than Melo.

In 2 years, Kawhi will simply be a "defensive specialist" and not considered one of the best players in the league.

Carmelo at Jimmy's age was in the playoffs every year as the #1 option in the WEST

Jimmy has improved over the last few years but Melo has always had a better skillset/been a better player if you compare them from 21-27

Even suggesting that Melo can have a "Dirk-Like" Run is implying that he is good enough to take a team of bunch of role players through the west...Melo can't even make the playoffs in the East. At his absolute Apex he took the knicks to the second round...I mean come on. Melo's best years were in Denver and that's before the game was changing and ISO Ball was still effective.

I say arguably top 25. You might have an argument at 19-20, but no higher.

What role players did Dirk take through the West? Dirk has always played on loaded squads. Do y'all even know what ISO ball is? Name a superstar that doesn't play ISO ball. The closest is Klay and he's not a superstar.
