Does that apply to black peoples as well, because what you are saying makes sense. Which is why problackness and activism is always in conflict with who people choose as partners. Nice segue to that conversation.
the way i see it, the social aspect only becomes an important part of the equation if the genetic aspect is dubious. If you are 99% percent african genetically you can identify as white all you want but will be black. You just become a c00n if you identify with white people more. I'm speaking specifically to biracial people who have as much white genetics or more than they do african. Just because Merkal can identify as white doesn't mean Rachel Dolezal can identify as black. Despite the fact the rachel has a black husband and biracial kids.

Terrance Howard's parents are Anita and Tyrone Howard, dude isn't Biracial to begin with. So this comparison doesn't work.
"Howard was born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 11, 1969, to Tyrone and Anita (née Williams) Howard,[1] both of whom were biracial, with African and Anglo ancestry"

That's an interesting scenario, I don't the answer to that one. Every bi racial person i know is two different race parents. the kids usually choose one of the other to identify with more. In his case that would probably be up to the shared identity of his parents.

Judging by his three ex-white wives and 1 asian wife, he does seem to be a lil :mjpls:.though

I'm mixed and must admit I find this an interesting rule :ehh:

A lot also comes from one's upbringing. Mixed people often have an implicit "choice" to make and I've always felt the issue of that choice depends A LOT of where/with who we grow up and what we're exposed to. Culture, people, history, etc. If you grow up in a majority white environment, most likely you'll navigate that way...unless you're proactive in connecting with your black side. If you grow up in a majority black environment you usually stick with it, at least that's what I've seen with the limited sample of other mixed people I've met over the years. :yeshrug:
Truth to this.

I know some mixed people who grew up on their black side and have all black friends and grew up on the hood.

Then when I got to college...I met mixed people with the caccent and it sounded weird when they said nikka and they called girls "hot" instead of "bad"

It appears they grew up around all cacs and in suburbia.

I'm mixed but I grew up around all blacks and I see my cac side once in a blue moon (funerals or weddings).

Its It's interesting to say the least :jbhmm:

What you want us to call him then? White?

His mother being black is a fact. And under US law during the days of Jim Crow he would be classified as black as well as his children if he had them with a white woman. Also during slavery he would still be a slave and not free regardless of how white he looked.

His mother isn’t black his mother is biracial. White men cant create black children I don’t care what slavemasters believe

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
u taking the acronym literally is like people who claim Charlize Theron is an african-american.

ados refers to an ethnic group of american slave descendants. white people are not part of that ethnic group.

" ADOS—which stands for American Descendants of Slavery—seeks to reclaim/restore the critical national character of the African American identity and experience, one grounded in our group’s unique lineage, and which is central to our continuing struggle for social and economic justice in the United States."

1. by my definition ADOS is limited to black/mixed people, so no white person is ADOS. the definition i posted pretty much states the same.

2. idgaf about charlize theron dual citizenship. my point was he is interpreting the name literally like some did to "african american" to refer to anyone when in reality the name refers to a specific ethnic group. the ethnic group does not include white/asian people.
Why would I not take an acronym as literal? That’s exactly why other people took ADOS, and changed it into AADOS. Because white people in America started saying “well my grandpa 8 times removed was a slave too so where’s my money”

It’s the excuse that people use to why we will never get reparations. Because so many people can prove they are descendants of slaves. Like what do we do with a Megan Markle? She’s 75% white but her mom is 50% black so somewhere down the line, she’s a descendant of slaves. The govt basically gonna have make a race law to say who is and who isn’t black. Right back at square one. Govt ain’t doing that shyt

But it wasn't about interpreting the name literally. He gave you the same example and you conflated the two when there was no connection. And in my example they would be "mixed" technically just not so in any distinguishably physical manner and your logic to prove it is circular to begin with,

There's levels.

I wouldn't let her say the n word:mjpls:

But I wouldn't call it bucking if a black guy wifed her either.

But when somebody like her also has a white husband, then they are white.

My rule was always if you bi-racial then your race is the race of your kids.
Example;

Tia = Black Woman
IhpYZteKj0Y3UdWXXtMNRE-H0eE

Tamara = White Woman

This should be the answer.

And prior to having a family, it's about who they identify with the most. That's their choice, no one else's.

This is partly the reason mixed people be the most fukked up and confused when they are younger. Trying to see what side they gonna pick.

Meghan a white woman. She chose to strengthen their race, not ours.

The dominance of black genes is why she's still considered black. This has nothing to do with what slave masters believe. Its about the fact that mixed children always come out looking more black than anything else.
