some of yall like to mascarade like you were fully functioning adults in real time when you were not. IN REAL TIME, Ether wasn’t applauded for the beat it was seen as dark, slow, menacing. It was the anti-Takeover. It was hailed bc of the lyrics, and it took a while for people to appreciate that slower darker beat bc it was the perfect backdrop for Nas to dissect Jay.Same way that people in time —-those of you who don’t already get it yet—-will appreciate and understand why MTG sounds like it does.
