How often do you guys consume meat? Daily? Red Meat? I am mostly a chicken eater, but I have been looking to cut down a bit myself. Any vegans on the site?

I wanted to be a vegetarian, strictly for health purpose (fukk animals) but its so hard. I went about 2 weeks with only eating fish. I felt great but missed steaks and burgers so I stopped.

I think there is a growing consensus that you dont need as much protein as supplement companies have suggested to make good gains. I have meat every day, but these days on rest days I do something light like a ham sandwich and a casein shake. I have found that protein doesn't have anywhere near as much of an impact on me in the gym as carbs or even fats for example. Meat comes with too much bad shyt- cholesterol, constipation, cost etc. I would bet the avg breh could do fine on .5g/lb of protein a day. In the long run it would be much healthier and cheaper

I eat poultry/seafood on pretty much a daily basis. And for dudes worried about cholesterol and whatnot, seafood in particular is good in that regard. The types of fats that fish has (particularly fatty fish like salmon) are known to be very good for your heart.

I rarely eat beef (once a week or less), and pretty much never eat pork.


That said, generally speaking, I think eating the wrong types of carbs (too much sugar, bread, etc.) is generally worse than meat.

I just stick to birds and fish.

I probably have some form of grilled/baked/ground turkey/chicken on most days and I don't fukk with pork at all. Beef every once in a while. Never messed with the whole vegan wave but I'm sure I probably could do it. I'm really bland & boring when it comes to food and can pretty much eat the exact same thing for weeks at a time. :laugh:

I pretty much only eat fish. I will occasionally buy chicken, but I rarely cook it (unless I am with my bf who LOVES chicken). I ate pork for the first time in I don't know how long this week.

I've always been told to keep my pork and beef consumption to once or twice per week on non-consectutive days because of digestion related issues.

I mostly eat chicken and seafood. I'll occasionally eat beef, but that's maybe once a week, if that.

I love bacon, but I don't eat it often. I haven't had it in about a month.
