Unpopular opinion: Storm and Black Panther are both great characters on their own, but their marriage does nothing for me. It never really went anywhere or did much of anything for either character. If they're going to have any kind of love story involving Storm, they need to keep it true to the OG Chris Claremont run and focus on Storm's relationship with Forge. Barry Windsor Smith
Second unpopular opinion: IMO Xtinction Agenda was mostly trash except for the Jim Lee issues, which were great. For all the crap I give Gambit, he was showing out in that story
But still, the first Genosha storyline with the Australian Outback X-men was a lot better and more consistent.
They should have made X-tinction Agenda into a 4 or 5 issue storyline and just let Jim Lee draw the whole thing instead of getting those other guys involved. Rob Liefeld
Third unpopular opinion: I'm torn on Gambit. He definitely had the juice in the 90s cartoon and the video games, but he's Boba Fett status in the comics IMO and his whole existence peaked with the early 90s if we want to keep it a buck.
At the same time though, Disney knows what they're doing with the MCU for the most part. If the MCU could make us care about characters like Groot and Rocket, who's to say that they couldn't do a good job with Gambit? (I stay caping for Cyclops, lol.) A swagged out Gambit in the MCU would be way more fun to watch than the new-millennium garbage X-men characters they're coming up with today, and for all my gripes with the character, he still deserved better than what we got in X-men Origins Wolverine.
Gambit should be the Lando Calrissian of these X-men movies. They should set him up to be this swagged out character until he betrays everyone, but in the end we've gotta see him redeem himself.
