MC Ren pissed off about the offcial Straight Outta Compton biopic trailer

I'm not so sure about their second album being better than their first but Ren def is nice and was very intergral to the success of N.W.A. But it's was well know that Dre, Cube & Eazy (mainly Eazy) were going to be the focal point of this movie. i can understand being upset but lashing out on twitter over a movie that hasn't even debuted yet is a little overkill don't you think? Again Ren is nice but this movie is really about the events leading up to the groups disbandment and Eric's untimely death.

I dunno how to put it, but the production on the 2nd album fit their style way more. The beats were more raw & gritty..and ren was rapping his ass off.

well almost anyone can understand his frustration even though ren was a second mc behind (pause) cube until cube left and then by default he came their number "1" mc. ren played an important role in the group. it's n.w.a.'s story, not no 1 particular person ;so they all should have their time to shine in the trailer as well as movie. that's the way i see it anyway

It's simple.

This movie is aimed at the casual fan, not the diehards. Hollywood trying to make money. A casual fan is gonna instantly think of Dre or Ice Cube, so they are going to be the main focus of the movie. That's who Hollywood feels people are paying money see, so that's who they showcase in the trailer. It's not a knock against MC Ren, it's just how the world works.

I bet if they made a movie about Nirvana Kris Novoselic would be in the damn trailer or if they did one on Nsync the 2 fat dudes would be in their trailer also.

NWA with it's core members....I don't mean the post-Eazy-E reunion shyt....ain't dropped an album in 24 years. It's not like there was some big ass demand for an NWA movie from casual fans. Aside from the pop culture novelty of "starting" gangsta rap NWA is an afterthought in 2015.

So they could've told what really happened....including about Ren, DOC, hell, even The Arabian Prince if they wanted. They chose not to, for seemingly no reason. This is what Ren is upset about.

I was looking forward to seeing a clip of Ren and Yella when Dr Dre & Cube was rolling around going places and was lost when I didn't see nether one. Cube & Dre should have told them muthafukkas to make sure they show a solo shot of each person from the group in the movie clips. They did Ren & Yella wrong.

I'm going still going to the movies to watch that movie though.

nikkas catching feelings over a damn TRAILER. The trailer supposed to sell the movie in a very short time, the average person don't know who the fukk yella or ren is. He need to sit his ass down and wait for the film before he cries

I understand the money mechanics, i'm just saying ain't shyt wrong with Ren feeling slighted.

We know whats up, but as someone who contributed so much to the group and hasn't gotten his just due in rap as a whole he's probably wondering if the trailer is indicative of how they gonna do him in the movie as well...seem like Dre and Cube kinda boxed everybody else out input wise so his reaction is understandable.

DOC is a rapper that was signed to ruthless and wrote a lot of lyrics for Eazy/Dre.. had a classic solo album and then got into a car crash that ruined his voice so he never rapped again but kept ghost writing.. he was also the nikka that brought Suge to the fold and left for death row with Dre, Snoop credits him for being his teacher

CPO is a group that was under MC Ren, not necessarily relevant to the NWA story as a group, moreso to MC Ren as a solo artist

I don't know what's worse - the fact that dude didn't know who The D.O.C. and CPO were or this explanation.

I know CPO Personally and he was brought under Ren so he's not tripping like that as long as if they cut checks incase they wanna use his music on soundtracks and sh!t .Ren has every right to be upset because he WROTE for Eazy and Dre. He held down the click when Cube left and put out a bunch of classics.


Nikkas act like adding him in the trailer along with them is hurting hype. He's not even asking for a lead role. You fake going against the grain nikkas can't excuse this whatsoever
