Ren was always my favorite in the crew. Granted, Cube's solo work has him in my top 5. But as far as NWA the group is concerned, Ren was always my favorite. I've often wondered how his solo would have turned out if Dre and Cube didn't bounce. Matter fact, had DJ Train not passed, how would Ren's solo projects differed from how they turned out?
On another note, was reading a post from DJ Mike T of CMW fame on another forum, and he stated that Da Chill and Ren were and still are close friends. That had me thinking how I would like to see a flick or a book focusing on CMW's story, but at the same time tell Quik's story. While NWA gets more mentions, truth be told myself personally I've listened to CMW and Eiht's work more than NWA and it's alumni with the exception of Cube's early solo work. Their story along with Quik's is more intriguing to me from a street perspective. As an old school Eiht stan, I didn't begin to appreciate Quik's work until years after their beef died. In hindsight I hate that they beefed, and that beef played a role into some Death Row sh!t behind the scenes. A book or a flick about those years would be interesting to me Sh!t would be like a Compton version of Purple Rain. Red(TTP) and Blue(Tragniew) make purple.
