I remember when Will Smith was cooking on all cylinders and Coko from SWV fronted on him and didnt want to be in the Men in Black music video because of his safe image. 3 years earlier though she was all up in the video with Wu Tang who just stepped on the scene

Same type of folks now acting like mans is a militant political prisoner cause the Academy felt some type of way about him backhanding someone in front of millions on live TV

nikkas dont love you unless you self destructive

U dudes acting surprised by this

Michael B Jordan is just one of the many black actors or musicians over the past 30 /40 years who been labeled corny by black women in our community

I always laughed looking how Tupac had to change his image when he was young to when he died to attract women in our community … this will continue to go on guys even when u die

Pac lost his hair and his respect for women :pachaha:

Honestly, Pac's issues was that he was being too nice. We all know nice guys finish last. Pac knew he had to switch his style to gain more attraction. And it worked!

Anyone else noticed how much MBJ, Majors and others have been pointing out how much he sacrificed/worked to get to a point where he’s directing films and has his own production company? It’s interesting that instead of celebrating that, much of the online discourse boils down to a certain segment of people clowning him. The movie had a super successful debut so none of that mattered but man…it’s like no one outside of the actors involved wants to talk about the massive success this man has reached.

I wonder what the online discourse would be about a massive film directed by a black woman, who called out a black guy journalist for calling her corny in high school. It would be a coronation…

It’s the typical humiliation ritual, it’s all by designed, we’re just going by the script

This is it.

Because any Black man in the US who accomplishes something major outside of sports (and that's only because that's what cacs want) has basically performed a miracle. Because so much of this country is against Black male success.

And yeah if this had been someone like Nia DaCosta who had one black male classmate who mocked her and called her corny for being a good student in high school they'd still be writing thinkpieces about all Black men not supporting Black women because of one critical classmate.

And it would be all the usual suspects like the Root, Grio, etc..joining in to attack Black men.

But it was a Black woman mocking a hardworking and focused Black man so...crickets. Because they all knew she was wrong for what she did but they couldn't admit it.

That particular demographic of women and dusties are offended that he’s flourishing in that space and still benefiting from black spending power without their approval.
If he was tricking on their acrylic nails and butterfly lashes or popping up in hood spots to take flicks with the members they would give him a pass for being too “safe” because they would have access.

You're conflating two different groups because you're scared to offend one. Leave it on the bytches.
