not really, let's be honest he's an athlete. how many of these guys are intelligent, and are able to "think" about what they're gonna do with millions in the bank 5, 10 years from now, let alone tomorrow. these guys live for today. thats just how majority of these athletes think.
I think people say shyt like this about folks like floyd to feel better about themselves. You could literally just switch athlete to most of us regular ass people doing the same shyt but gotta get that green eyed monster in. I wouldn't use Africa or anything in particular but when it comes to donating anything rich or not unless its that government strong arm money aka taxes I'll be donating when I feel like it and won't be strong armed by folks that haven't usually donated/done shyt.

I'm not even talking about giving money, I'm talking about breh becoming an icon. Doing it and moving for the love of the sport. Campaigning or even fighting in different countries and raise his profile as a master of his artform. Commenting on various political/social issues and even filming himself go to places in Africa or South America and getting a feel for the people.

By that you become larger than the sport. you've become more than a guy who can throw a jab, you're a legend whose name will speak worldwide on a conscious level like Muhammad Ali.

But instead he stays on this Money Mayweather schpeel that when you see the 'all access' you see it isn't truly him. It comes off forced. I understand it's a strategy to sell the fight, but what I ask of him is to evolve. to cement his legacy and garner love. He's not really this arrogant money loving prick. So since your position in boxing history is set, your purse demand is solidified, how about you become yourself for a change and allow people to see you instead of staying in character all the time.

Be human.

He basically says "fukk Africa, it's my money":what: that's something id expect from a young ignorant like broner not a 35 year old great cementing his legacy as the best to ever step in the ring.

Pacquiao's probably regretting giving all that money to the Philippines now that the gov is trying to get him for tax money though. :heh:

Anyway, i understand what Floyd is trying to say, but as usual, he doesn't come off in the way most people would like it come off. Oh well...

Don't tell that to Floyd

"You know, me, I'm an American first. I represent that red, white, and blue flag if I don't do nothing else. I'm an American first and I love America. I don't like when people ask me if I'm African American. I've never been to Africa. I was born on American soil, so I'm an American. I always say it's not a black thing, it's not a white thing, it's the right thing."

I actually agree with the jist of what he's saying. :ld: But it was an unneccessary comment. Something that just didn't need saying.

He's the king of putting his foot in his own mouth.

Don't tell that to Floyd

And he would be correct.

classless father having negro. Mayweather is rich and great at what he does, but you can tell that he is a trainwreck with issues on the inside. Dude needs to do some meditating and soul searching
