As far as who he
should fight, I dont know
But both Thurman and Porter are strong dudes. both undefeated. Id like to see floyd beat a power puncher like Thurman. Fight would probably be clean as well. I believe porter is fighting in July or august...I believe July..so I dont think a floyd fight could happen so soon. Cotto wouldnt be a bad choice either, floyd could have the a title in 6 different weight classes. And it not like he hasnt given his opponent a weight advantage before.
Madaina can join Ortiz and
real question is, why do you dislike Floyd so much?
lets revisit this. floyd signed a contract with showtime for 6 fights..he's done 3 so far...2 of those 3 didn't perform well PPV wise to justify what showtime is spending on him especially the last one where he had an expensive undercard. so he put himself in a situation where he has to have a viable opponent AND it has to be sellable on PPV
september 2014..who can floyd actually fight?
keith thurman = last fight was against a faded julio diaz..he won but too short to make any decent impression...unlike shawn porter who ko'ed a notable fighter in paulie on that same card..could happen but its not going to sell on PPV and ill be surprised if showtime green lights it..he's out
shawn porter - has a mandatory..he's not available for september..he's out
miguel cotto - has a working agreement with bob arum right now...his next fight will be with bob arum at the end of the year or early 2015...if he did decide to fight in september..a big IF he's not fighting floyd
else a big can of worms will open for Floyd
marcos maidana - gave floyd his closest fight since JLC (115-113 on my own card)...roughed him up..went 12 rounds with no visible damage..and above all put up a damned good fight..and isnt bound to any fight...do i care to see it? not really..not because of maidana who deserves his accolades..but it should be on regular showtime instead just like the first fight ..logical choice
now your other question
floyd the fighter = yes i like him...esp if you've boxed you can understand a little more what he puts himself through to have the skills and conditioning he has..ive mentioned several times i like floyd's style of fighting and i can name my favorite floyd fights just as well as anyone...thats where it stops..floyd's career, level of opposition, his persona, his "business" decisions doesn't do it for me to put it lightly...and i dont do any of the racial shyt either...black, white, hispanic, asian..if i fukk with you i fukk with you
