Mayor Eric Adams has fearmongered to New Yorkers about crime and the subways despite knowing this is one of the safest cities in the country and now..

Breh we were talking about young minorities. Old nikkas use social media too, it's not just young people who are obsessed with it. Conservative media generally skews older, this rings true all the time. Just at demographics for any conservative movement/media.

Ok. I'm done with you. You believe dangerous c00ns should be treated less harshly then the politicians they help get in office. Copy.

The subway statistics are bullshyt because most things dont get recorded. Things I've seen with my own eyes.

No one cares about stats when a crazy person is yelling to himself on the train. Even if nothing actually happens, you shouldnt have to feel relieved something didnt on your daily commute. So many people gaslight commuters about this, as if theyre the crazy ones.

It was 850 million

Covid is when it got really bad with them social distancing every shelter. Most people just said fukk it, and went to the street and never went back. I have never seen more homeless, and needles on the tracks, than post covid. I've never seen this many young crash outs either. Seems like a lot od toung guys just gave up
Breh, they don’t hear you.

When Major Adams said a while ago that the subway system was safe, the employees & riders were screaming no the f*ck it wasn’t. It's only been recently since the crimes have been high profile (people getting shot & killed on trains) is why he's had to walk his previous statements back.

haven't been to every city so I'll go by this article:
  1. Nashua, New Hampshire
  2. Columbia, Maryland
  3. South Burlington, Vermont
  4. Gilbert, Arizona
  5. Warwick, Rhode Island
  6. Portland, Maine
  7. Casper, Wyoming
  8. Yonkers, New York
  9. Burlington, Vermont
  10. Scottsdale, Arizona

Nashua New Hampshire has a population of 90k.

We talking about cities not suburbs.

But why dont you move to Columbia Maryland and tell me how safe you feel. Last I heard about that place they were fighting against desegregating schools.

In 2019.

Come on man, it's not propagandists that fund these people to get prominence. They are just post hoc rationalizers. I will always think the person with actual power should be criticized more than the person with Internet clout. I don't see how this is controversial

it's a city and it is the safest without caveats attached:manny:

I'm perfectly fine living the 6th state with the lowest violent crime rate

Is NYC really one of the safest in the country, like stat-wise?
it depends on where you are, but stats have never told the full story here. However, the places that have been crime ridden have ALWAYS been crime ridden, so whether it was Adams, Bloomberg, Giuliani, Dinkins, Koch, whoever, those places for the most part have been what they are. Some years are better than other.

When people pontificate on crime here, it's not about the residents. It's only an issue when it scares tourists and rich white people.

Crime happens in Times Square: we need gun free zones and crack downs on crime everywhere

Crime happens in the hood: well maybe if your son was in school and not on the Nintendo...

Yeah I think nyc looks nice now. Yall hating on Adam’s but I think he held his own.

It’s true…remember during the pandemic and how many were saying it’s the end of New York. Streets were empty. He turned things around
We kinda liked it that way.

Trump be out here like "everyone's leaving NY, they can't wait to go" and all these business and white people fleeing to Texas, Florida and Tennessee. Shiiit, New Yorkers were pleased to hear this. That changed when Adams decided to allow all the migrants and then some to take their place

Speaking from personal experience, I’ve seen a substantial increase in the number of mentally unstable individuals and associated incidents on the subway than ever before
the subways have never been safe. There's too many people who thought shyt was sweet at some point. The difference now is that now people don't feel safe in areas that otherwise woulda been safe. Now you can get on the train on 42nd street and some random ass dude who ain't all there in the head will try to stare through you. That's all it takes for some shyt to pop off.

I treat every subway station like it's Tremont Ave on the D during the late 90s. when dudes was out here slicing randoms with box cutters to be Blood or SMM. It shouldn't have to be that way, but for some of us it's always been that way. It's startling for people for didn't think shyt was really like that, so here we are.

How they're going about it isn't working though. Metal detectors, bag checks. All I need is courage and these two hands to end a life on the subway. As I've maintained, they almost never send cops or whoever to the stops where shyt pops off, mostly because those cops ain't tryna be there too.
