Matrix. I don't follow superhero movies that much, not being snob, just because I got into it quite late and I haven't seen everything and don't really know the comics. So I always have this feeling I'm missing some of the references, backstories etc. I still go and enjoy them though, it's just not something I anticipate much. Not that I anticipate Matrix that much either, but I feel like it's more of a gamble it seems to make a 4th one
First off, if you're a film snob who hates Hollywood blockbuster films then this thread isn't for you :hubie:

But between these two movies releasing this month, which one are you most hyped up for?

It's a tough call for me. I feel like SM3 has a higher floor but Matrix 4 has a higher ceiling. Which I mean to say, going by the MCU track record it's almost guaranteed SM3 will be good...it's very unlikely that it'll actually be bad, just a matter of whether it's great or just good. Matrix 4 on the other hand...who knows. It could be a classic like the first Matrix (which would put it over any Spidey move IMO) but it could also be lame like Matrix 3.

I feel like Matrix is more of a gamble and that's it more "make or break". It could be the one that makes good for kind of mid Matrix 2 and 3 or it could confirm the drop-off. But I already know that SM3 is going to be good. Like you said : SM3 has the higher floor and Matrix has the higher ceiling.

Both but based on the magnitude Spider-Man is going to cause I'd rather Matrix get pushed back

Neither one to be honest. After Endgame, nothing in the MCU really excites me anymore.

I was never a huge fan of The Matrix. I liked it in 1999 and the few times I watched it in the 2000s but tried watching them again a few years ago and was bored.

I'll be there opening weekend for both though. :manny:

Matrix just because I'm very intrigued with what they can do with the property. I do think NWH feels like the real start of the next phase of the MCU and am excited for it.

The Bay Area
Spidey in theatres
Matrix 4 on HBO Max
Spider-man is definitely the safer bet. The Wachoksi sister hasn't made a good movie in over two decades.

The Matrix is the greatest movie of all time.

To even think that these people would go back in and try again is intriguing

But here's what got me cued up

Look what they did with the tech they had then. They INVENTED modern sci fi in ways.

So to see what they do with the tools available.

Exciting times

Yall are nuts. I know matrix 2 and 3 were disappointing but there hasn't been a matrix in almost 20 years, where as there are 50,000 superhero movies a year it feels like. Matrix I'm way more hyped for
spider-man is potentially the once in a lifetime spider-man movie though
