  • 2022 DT Caden Curry: Only spoke to someone for about 5 minutes but think this was a very good visit for Ohio State to cement themselves as the school to beat. This one is planning on going to the fall when officials happen but OSU is in a strong position right now.
  • 2023 WR Anthony Brown: Our guys on the ground said the workout went well. I caught up with AB after and he spent some time with the staff, including a good amount of time in Ryan Day's office after his workout. No offer YET, as apparently the staff wants to evaluate some things the rest of the month and the talented wideout should know more in early July. The OSU staff definitely liked what they saw and Brown did everything they asked on this return camp visit.
  • 2023 DE Brenan Vernon: Good day for Ohio State to cement themselves here. It's OSU, Notre Dame, and Bama but I don't see Brenan going to Tuscaloosa. Notre Dame is very confident in their chances of landing Vernon and I think they have a right to be. He'll make his second visit of the month to South Bend this weekend and some sources close to ND told me they wouldn't be shocked if they could get him to commit after that. I'm a little skeptical of that but I see the Irish as a very real threat---mainly because I think the environment there is a strong personality fit for Vernon. That's not to say that OSU is not, but the smaller campus, intimate feel, religious aspect etc. all appeal to the type of kid Brenan is. Definitely more worried about OSU losing this one than Luke Montgomery or Sonny Styles.
  • 2023 OL Luke Montgomery: I am told Ohio State loved what they saw, especially Luke's ability to have a bad or average rep, get coaching from Stud, and apply what he was taught on the next rep and dominate. I am also told Luke really enjoyed working with Stud and their styles/personalities meshed. Having Kevin Wilson work with Luke was good too, as he coached his dad at Miami (OH).
  • 2025 QB Ryan Montgomery: Luke's brother has picked up offers already before playing a high school game. Not from OSU yesterday even though I heard the workout went well. And to be clear an offer was not expected buy Ryan, Luke, or the family, as they know that will have to be earned on the field the next couple of years. Anyone saying that Ryan needs to have an offer for Luke to commit somewhere is flat out wrong. Just wanted to clarify that.
  • 2023 LB TaMere Robinson: Strong workout with Al Washington yesterday and landed an offer. Some were saying "bullet" heading into this trip, but he is being recruited as a linebacker (now 6-3/220). Buckeyes definitely high on the list for TaMere after this trip and I expect them to be a top contender moving forward as long as they want to be. A source told me he grew up as a big Ryan Shazier fan as a cool side note. Quote from the kid himself on the day: "It was great working with Coach Washington. I couldn't wait to get there to work with him because I knew he was going to push me to be the best I could be. Ohio State overall was amazing--one of the best schools I've seen so far. The campus and facilities were amazing and so was the staff."
  • 2023 DB Ethan Nation: Told me he "loved it". Got to work out with Matt Barnes and Kerry Coombs. Was very impressed with their intelligence and ability to teach ball technique. He's hoping to come back this fall for a game. This visit was a great first step and confirmed to him that Ohio State needs to be a serious consideration in his recruitment. Long way to go here and OSU will battle SEC powers.
  • 2023 DL Derrick Leblanc: Second visit in a month on his own dime tells you all you need to know. If OSU pushes for him they will be in a great spot.
  • 2023 QB Brayden Dorman: Worked out but no offer. Add him to the list where OSU just wants to see the junior film before doing anything. From the same town as Tony Alford in Colorado so there was a nice connection there. Holds offers from Wisco, Miss St, Iowa St, Kansas, Colorado, Oregon State, and others so he will remain on the radar.
  • 2023 WR Carnell Tate: Another strong visit and he and mom loved everything they saw. Think Ohio State has the edge over Notre Dame.
  • 2024 QB Jadyn Davis: Offered yesterday and I think Ohio State will be a major player for the South Carolina-native who could be one of the top QBs in the country for his class by the early looks of things. Client of Quincy Avery so that should help the Buckeyes.
  • 2023 QB Dante Moore: Also offered. Need to dig more here but I am told Ohio State will definitely have a shot with the Michigan-native.
  • 2024 DB Kaleb Beasley: No offer yet but Ohio State liked what they saw and I won't be shocked if an offer comes during the fall. Will be back for a game. If OSU offers I have them as the team to beat.

Gotta watch Vernon. Can’t have any instate 5* defections.

1) What's an offseason update without a MARVIN HARRISON JR. mention? Has absolutely led the way for all the incoming kids in conditioning--but more than that has absolutely dominated all of the off season 7 on 7 workouts and drills. Absolutely UNCOVERABLE--which either an indictment of the OSU defensive backs OR this guy is going to be a STAR. I think its the latter and there is no way this kid doesn't leave here as one of the finest to ever play the position. He is THAT good. Kerry Coombs and Mickey Marotti both called him “uncoverable” in spring ball, and he has gotten even more comfortable in the offense since April. If I could mortgage my house on him being under recruited, I’d do it in a second…

2) Last year's whipping boy HARRY MILLER looks like a man reborn. SUPER intelligent kid that unfortunately would read stuff on social media. Bad idea. Now, believe it or not his parents control all of his social media accounts and he is 100% focused on football. In superb shape and has dropped all of his baby fat. Looks fantastic and every bit of the five star kid he was when we recruited him out of Georgia. NFL has taken notice as to how he played down the stretch, and his consistent holding issues were due to his shoulder injury and compensating for a lack of strength with his weakened labrum. That has been corrected and he has been a man of fire in the weight room.

3) TREY HENDERSON is a different level physical beast. We knew he was strong when he came in---but he has smashed all of the freshman records for lower body strength--just obliterated them. SO explosive--some kids come in highly ranked and you wonder where the rankings came from---but not with Trey. SPECIAL running back---wait until you get a glimpse in the fall.

4) TARON VINCENT is another kid that is going to get PAID by the NFL for all of his hard work. Has really led the way for all the defensive linemen in conditioning and has quietly emerged as a vocal and team leader through his transformative effort. Looks to be in fantastic shape and poised for the breakout season we've all been expecting from him since he came to Ohio State. Some kids take a little longer--but with Taron it will have been worth the wait. His dad was a pro’s pro, and the light is shining bright now that Taron is penciled in as a starter next to Haskell Garrett…

5) JACK SAWYER is the deal. Nobody on the team loves every aspect of football like he is. He has a JJ Wattish approach to the weight room and the game (the Fourth Wiseman shares financial advisors with the Watt family and has become very close with JJ and TJ). Jack is the first guy in the weight room and does extra ancillary work after every workout. Also, his effort is absolutely exceptional on EVERY. SINGLE. REP. Most kids who show up to Ohio State need to be corrected on what “going really hard” really is, but, per Coach Mick, “I’ve never had to say a single word to Jack Sawyer”. Will he start Week 1? I’d put the odds as a Pick ‘em. Will he start Week 2? I’d lay a nice amount on yes. Joey Bosa 2.0…
