Just dont expect tax breaks, special treatment or for visas to be issued(id do away with all spousal visas).
But marriage is a religious and cultural ceremony strictly between a man and woman. I support equality for gays. But stop trying to change thousands of years worth of cultural tradition to suit your agenda.
So in other words you believe cultural tradition should trump equality and fairness in lawmaking.

The majority of France is in favor of gay marriage, as people have already stated in this thread. These protesters represent a minority.

There is nothing surprising about these protests btw, countries like France, Spain and Italy etc have a sizeable minority that is very conservative and very religious.

them for that. but im not sure its a fair comparison, i don't know how ireland's government works, but passing a nationwide act is very difficult in the USjust pointing out that social conventions are not always black and white
