I think Trump is racist, but won’t come out and condemn white nationalism, because he knows he won’t win if he does.
He could say,
“White people, if you thought me getting elected meant you should feel emboldened to hurt others, you thought wrong. We don’t need more guns, or fewer guns. Us white people need to do a better job raising our kids. We put down others, and feel validated in looking down on them for their problems, yet we have the most money, power, and resources, and our people still do this.”
But he will obviously never say that.
