BioWare may have already revealed the name of the protagonist in Mass Effect: Andromeda, having hidden clues in plain sight. As rabid fans are wont to do, followers of the Mass Effect franchise have picked apart the latest teaser for Andromeda, and in so doing have found one particularly compelling piece of evidence: military dog tags with a name inscribed in them.

Having trouble spotting them? They're waaaaay into the far left corner there. Here's a zoomed-in picture to help you out.

Redditors are saying that the tags read "Rider/Ryder" (even zoomed in, it's hard to tell), which would make a lot of sense. Commander Shepard was so named to honor Alan Shepard, the first American man in space, whereas Sally Ride was the first American woman in space. Plus, BioWare Montreal studio director Yanick Roy said in July that there were "very good reasons" for the studio using Johnny Cash's "Ghost Riders in The Sky" as the tune in Andromeda's reveal trailer. If the hero's name is Rider and they're a Spectre, that'd fit quite nicely. As for whether or not they're actually a Commander, it's currently unknown. But come on, "Commander Rider" just rolls off the tongue so nicely.

Mass Effect Andromeda’s Development Director Leaves Bioware
Will now “eagerly await the release of Andromeda with equal enthusiasm.”
image: http://gamingbolt.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Mass-Effect-Andromeda.jpg

While we don’t have a ton of concrete info about Mass Effect: Andromeda we’ve been getting pieces of information here and there. Perhaps the most interesting pieces of information have been the people Bioware has been hiring to work on the title. Now one of the biggest pieces of news is that Chris Wynn, Mass Effect: Andromeda’s development director is on the way out. While Wynn didn’t announce just why he was leaving Bioware but he took to Twitter in order to tell fans of the game series he was going to be moving on.

“It is with a heavy heart today to say that I am moving on from BioWare and Mass Effect: Andromeda, and returning to the USA. The Andromeda team is the most talented team that I have ever worked with, truly inspiring to have worked with you each and every day. I will join the passionate N7 community and will eagerly await the release of Andromeda with equal enthusiasm. Thank you and Happy Holidays!” Wynn said in a series of tweets announcing the departure.

So far, Wynn hasn’t talked about what was behind the move. Wynn has been quite coy about information when it comes to the game. He’s managed to tease different details about Mass Effect: Andromeda in the past but now it appears we’re going to have to get those little teases from someone else. There’s no telling how long Bioware will take to name Wynn’s replacement.

So you finally admit that ME 1 was the best? :ohhh:

Nope.

The world and story of 1 was the best. In the rest of the series there is nothing comparable to the first time you land on the Citadel, or hear Sovereign, or find all the dead Protheans, etc. Because the entire universe and characters are new in the first game.

As an actual game....as far as game play, how it controls, etc. the 2nd game is the best in the series over all. It's not even about the RPG elements.....because they were mostly a mess in part 1. Some of the skills unintentionally cancelled each other out or didn't function properly. Not to mention you're a soldier but if you don't put skill points in guns you can't even shoot straight. Some of the design choices were very bizarre.

But RPG heads just seen all the options like :krs:

Granted, they removed way too much of that in 2 and 3, when they should've just refined it.

Fred.
