All in all, good show, worth a watch for anybody who hasn't seen it.
Being that this was supposed to be the first show out the gate and stems from The First Avenger, I'd say it's about a similar level as that movie. A good foundation to build on for these characters.
That being said, the coolest shyt about Phase 1 level MCU was authenticity over everything. We had just come from the biggest super hero franchise that prided itself on NOT being like the comics to seeing these nikkas jump straight off the page and onto the screen, it was amazing. But there was a natural progression from nailing that aspect to much better writing and direction.
I feel like this, especially seeing how it was SUPPOSED to be the first show out the gate, is indicative of Phase 1 MCU TV. Good page to screen action and set pieces, everything else was kind of bringing up the rear, the writing/dialog especially.
I see some people feeling let down by the finale...which I get. I think I'd feel let down too if not for the fact that the finale was pretty much in line with the tone of the rest of the show. I spent most of it enjoying the visuals and not really caring much about the plot or most of the characters and that's exactly how the finale hit. I keep thinking 8 episodes would be much better to serve the story, but if that just meant 8 episodes of the bold rather than 6, I'm glad they wrapped it up.
6.5/10 overall for the series.
