see that’s where I’m coming from. Not on him taking serum but him accepting he can be cap and stand on his own while being a different cap. And I know that’s where the story is going and I’m loving the ride to get there.

Sam has to reconfigure what it means to be captain America in this world that enslaved his people for 400 years and haven’t made it any easier on them since. And embrace what makes him different and his perspective unique from Steve.

I do think he can make the sacrifice play though because as you point out, being a black soldier in America and even being a little willing to wear that shield is a sacrifice play. It’s his life and the life of his loved ones.

They will never make a successful falcon as captain americA. Simply because you run into the issues any black main character hero and writer penciler are going to come into conflict with.

Which is,...why is said black hero not saving the entire world. Or liberating black people on us soil entiretly.
in a sweeping focus initial fashion.
It is the biggest connundrum of being a black comic book creator.

Plus any writer or illustrator of color being a comic book creator.
Plus having an assignment that does not feature a black character. To having a black character initially as well.

Just hold off for a bit right.

Wait for MK to drop (cuz I'm guessing you got HBO Max), watch that movie like 2 or 3 times, then go to your settings and cancel it.

Then just order Disney+ (maybe even check with your phone provider for that combo plan..... I literally have D+, Hulu, and ESPN+ for like $8) Also by then you can binge watch all this and get ready for Loki

Captain america is all about being outmatched.
Then running into battle with only shield.
going against threats he not a match for.

Originally the avengers got whooped't by namor and hulk pretty routinely.
The entire premise of the avengers is not being strong enough to really beat anyone.
Which is an extension of the story book mechanics of captain america..
Even us agent came about and was put out to pasture. With marvel trying to make a more tougher whoop ass cap with none of the morality. Yet still having the exact same issues as steve rogers versus anyone.
