Its sad how Capcom is completely out of touch with gaming in 2017. They rather cater to their 20 pro jap/30 + neckbeard players
See the thing is the game is fun but damn everything else around it is straight up shyt. The game deserves what it gets tbh it will do fine in the tournament scene but casually the shyt is done.

The esports money is real. Casuals don't care about "capcom" games because they're "hard" After making SF5 easy mode they did the right thing by catering this game to the people who are going to play it. They really don't need the casuals with E-sports. The high level play in this game will be great on tv.

Its gonna implode. You cant do ratings if people aint watching. You cant get people watching on a game that people dont play. The niche market are the only ones who will tune in, then after that there wont be a TV deal. They have to give a quality product for everyone, and that doesnt mean dumbing down the gameplay, it means making a complete package of what a gamer expects in 2017.

"Casuals" dont care about capcom games because they arent quality anymore. Ask the 'casuals' about MVC2 and SF2 champion edition all the way to ST. They might not be amazing at those games but they played the shyt out of those. Every gamer has memories of these games (note that i said GAMERS and not just FGC.)Those are the people that dont give a shyt about MVCI (or sfv).

Capcom is definitely out of touch. The real casual doesnt give a shyt if the game is hard as balls. They just want single player content to go along with the package. SF for example has decent lore and backstories for the whole cast. Too bad they wont show that in the games. Its why NRS thrives. Plus NRS had those towers, some kind of squads, and daily whatevers in their games. A 'casual' isnt winning any NRS tournaments, those games are not easy either. But they are still playing the game cause it was packed with content. Thats why it moved units.:manny:

And even with that said, even the hardcore players have had enough, lot of people just want an overall quality game, its why other fighting games have been increasing in popularity....its cause capcom been fukking up. See Guilty gear and Tekken and you will see a lot of former SF players. They are hurting both with the niche audience and the casual audience. Thats a lose lose. Ive been playing the VS series since my barbershop had XVSF in the 90s and now I wont fukk with this, thats whats happening with capcom.

MVC marketing was just 'esports, esports.' Appealing to only one demographic is not a smart business tactic. Look at how it is with SFV. They just try and nickel and dime their last remaining players with overpriced costumes and terrible stages. Probably wouldnt have had to do that if the game appealed to more people.

After SFIV in essence revitalized fighting games, Capcom got greedy, they went and fukked it all up.

Sf2 is over 25 years old. Marvel 2 is old as shyt. Stop it.

You're the worst. Your opinion isn't right, it's just your opinion. They made a business decision and decided to go a certain direction. Only time will tell if it was the right one.

Either way game is fun. If you don't like it don't watch it don't play it and damn sure stop making Art Barr style post :camby:

I don't even think the game is hard. It's just Capcom has refused to evolve their game model and design. Look at shyt like Tekken, NRS, etc. Wealth of content, explanation of simple game play mechanics, etc. Capcom games continue to have neither. And sure exports is where they get their money from but how substainable is that? You need to move units not matter what and if people aren't buying your product there won't be money to develop another game for your pro scene

The game isn't "hard" but it was developed in a way that will set a skill gap. Some of us could take a round off a "Pro" in SF5, I think it would be harder in Marvel. I don't know if the Esports will work but that's the decision they made. I never played overwatch but don't mind watching it. The cut all types of corners putting this game out to save on money. These kids are watching games on the same level as sports. You don't need a million viewers to be successful. The world is turning into one big niche market where you pick the content you're exposed to.

There's a reason Adam Silver said we should be watching NBA games in a style similar to twitch.
