Just to clear this up, I didn't say that you can't win with a good team. Great play helps too, but some characters just don't have it.
Let's look at your list further:
Wolverine- point man/ with a psuedo teleport that gets behind you + he has some air mobility
Spencer- Instant super and he can zipline to get around in the air
Viper- requires some better than average play+ she has an air dash
Haggar- good mixups in the corner, can approach with specials, but you only mention him because of KBR
Hulk- same as haggar, but specials give him some mobility, again you only mention him because of KBR
check out one of those FChamp vs KBR first to 10 sets where FChamp runs constantly with Magneto for a good part of the set.

What's even wilder is that X-men is easily poppin' enough to have a whole fighting game of it's own. The way things are going we'll likely not see one until 3022 when Marvel gets the movie rights back

The X-Men not being present is a major blow, but Marvel can pull something out the woodwork like Namor, Cage, Black Panther etc.

But that Capcom side is a little weak.
Capcom side has been weak EVERY game. They got street fighter characters going up against intergalactic beings

I'm gonna go ahead and say the focusing on the MCU thing is certainly true but there's not a fukking chance in hell Wolverine won't be in. I'm pretty sure Wolverine is the only character that has appeared in every Capcom/Marvel fighting game dating back to Children of the Atom. He is maybe the most popular and selected character in the series. It would turn too many people off so there's no way he'll be left out of this game. I think every one else is probably gone though (sorry Doom & Magneto fans). Maybe Deadpool cause of his popularity right now but I doubt it.
On the Capcom side I'd like to see X replace Zero. I actually prefer Zero's character but let X get a chance. Bring back Strider again and give me Captain Commando and I'm good
