most definitely but this is why I think this is different:
If they make an announcement during SDCC or NYCC, ultimately they end up competing with every other piece of news that comes out from those venues.
when they pick the time & day, etc. - its all about them. This is something new for Marvel now announcing an event the way Apple does when they announce new products.
same way like how Rockstar Games will NEVER announce a new GTA game at E3 or such. THEY pick the time when to drop the news.
I think we can safely that this is not just a regular news day for Marvel tomorrow.

Black Widow at some point is DEFINITELY getting a solo movie. Again just a matter of when.
The fact that Scarlett Johansson took #1 with "Lucy" for 1 week over the summer AND in the process beating out The Rock in "Hercules" the same week was all Marvel/Disney needed to see. Let that sink in for a bit: well established action star who was at the time already rumored for a role in the DC Superhero Film Universe, takes #2 to an up and coming female action star??
Now imagine what she can do with the power of Marvel and the Mouse behind her starring in a Black Widow solo film?

Well yea i wouldn't expect it to be out the same year. Im saying marvel needs a "female franchise" to ocmpete agaisnt wonder woman and the female spidey flick. If it's not black widow who else will it be?
WW is by far and large more popular then BW. But I have no doubt BW would be a better movie though. After seeing what marvel did to a corny ass superhero like Captain america im on board 100% with whatever they do.
100% this. Scarlett is just too popular right now not to get that star billing. It's just a matter of when it's gonna happen. Id put money on it being one of the untitled movies of phase 3.

Its a real challenge regardless. Remember marvel never budged on the release date. DC did. Marvel has full confidence in cap 3 going up against batman/superman meaning they had something big planned for this movie from the beginning.
