Besides F9 and No Time To Die Spiderman: No Way Home and Eternals were the highest budgeted movies. They aren't making movies 'on the cheap'.

in the context of VFX, they're doing it cheap.

They could spend more on better VFX, but why, when they don't need to spend that much and make billions in the BO.

I'm pretty sure Eternals was that expensive because of going to locations instead of using green screens. The VFX in that movie were not bad but I am also not a stickler for VFX.

They did a movie with no green screens a and physical locations last year for like the first time and got their first rotten tomato and a disappointing a box office number. Critics and general audiences don't reward cinafile sensibilities. :manny:
Everything everywhere all at once had a team of only 5 people that were not primarily vfx artists doing the work on a 25M budget and looks better than marvel movies. No excuses

I know you a marvel stan breh, I'm just going off the premise of the thread of another marvel stan breh.

My point is, why rock the boat and spend more money when they don't have to. Majority, like yourself don't care enough about the cheaper effects, so there's no need to spend more, and still rack in billions.

OK uh what's that got to do with what I just said? They attempted something more practical and got shyt on for it. They want results and need to gross way more that an artsy indie movie does.

And I countered saying they do spend the money. Maybe the results aren't what you want but you can't say it's 'cheap'.

It's not just the CGI, Marvel movies are starting to look like streaming movies with the blatant cheap sets and off brand CGI.

The only post Infinity War/Endgame movies that looked like a damn blockbusters were Doc Strange 2 and Far From Home.
Shang Chi was aight with the exception of the rodent faced bytch uglyfina.

you bring up location filiming and stuff. I'm strictly talking VFX, which was the thread's premise.

They're spending money on everything but VFX.

but hey, I'm like you I don't particularly care about their cheap looking VFX, I was just saying as a corporation, if it works as it is for how much it costs, no point in them spending money/resources on it if it's still bringing in bank.

I'm sure if it was really an issue, they'd step up and pay

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
My conclusion is this.... the marvel formula is flawed.

The Infinity Saga was seamless, but post End Game, it's been a clusterfukk due to time constraints. These movies are announced years in advanced, but for some reason they drag their feet on selecting writers/directors and actually putting the movie together. This means less time in post production.

Then you have writers/producers having to wait to get input from teams producing other movies to ensure continuity isn't screwed up. Which leads to wasting time doing rewrites. So after spending all that money, they're trying to get it out as soon as possible to start making their money back.

It's why the TV shows aren't an hour long.

Some of these movies should really take 2 to 3 years to do, but they end up doing all of it within a year, which isn't practical.

Quality matters, There should already be a director and a writer for Fantastic 4 but they don't. No actors, no nothing. And it's supposed to drop in 2 years?

This Thor movie started production in January last year and ended in June. So they had almost a year to do post production and fix this bullshyt.
