I'm not interested in shoehorning in token characters or lines in order to meet a quota. There is a big difference.
This is exactly what Disney does and fails at.

And I'm judging his "points-of-view". If you don't know enough about an entire group of people to include them to make it realistic that shows you to be what exactly? Ignorant at best and either a total lack of interest or even disdain for said group. See the monologue he did in his own movie. That's the role you choose to cameo as an actor? Tell me how you feel without telling me.As he should, it's his point-of-view, that's what makes his films interesting and "realistic."

Half of his movies are based on real life shyt, you have a problem with the racial makeup take it up with the people he's portrayingAnd I'm judging his "points-of-view". Chris Tucker*Nerds mad because Chris Hemsworth wasn't on the list?
I'm glad you brought that up. Stratton Oakmont portrayed in Wolf of Wall Street was all white guys with 1 Asian thrown in. I can tell you Wall St. is way more diverse than that. It truly reflects the melting pot of NYC. He bypassed that to make it a bunch of white guys. Why?Half of his movies are based on real life shyt, you have a problem with the racial makeup take it up with the people he's portraying
See now this is the selective naivete I be talking about. Yall know good and goddamn well 80s Wall Street was a white boys' club rife with nepotism.I'm glad you brought that up. Hmm . . this guy worked there and somehow couldn't even be portrayed as an extra. lolSee now this is the selective naivete I be talking about. Yall know good and goddamn well 80s Wall Street was a white boys' club rife with nepotism.
Look up a picture of Black Monday and it ain't nothing but a bunch of balding white men ready to jump out a window, let's be serious

Most of Scorsese's films are about navigating the complicated world of Italian American identity. Something that's very personal to him. Thats his bag. Ain't too much room for black folks in those stories, and why should that be important to us?
Film makers should be allowed to tell whatever story they want to tell regardless of who might be included or excludes. And I have a feeling most of yall feel the same way. Let someone say Spike Lee needs to include more gay characters or Indian characters or what have you and there'd be " STFU" responses all around. And that's why a lot of us in this thread see through the real agenda behind the discourse.
OK, you want to act like he's agnostic on Black folks. No speaking parts for Black people in Marty films but we do get a lot of commentary.American.
Outside of work, I can go months without interacting socially with a white person and that is doubly true for White people who can completely segregate themselves because they are a majority. Yeah even in places like NYC people are socially segregated.
America is a segregated country. That’s why we have black schools and white schools, black neighborhoods and white neighborhoods, black clubs and white clubs. We don’t even worship together despite belonging to the same churches and denominations.
I’d take an honest artistic POV over the Netflix model of pretend diversity where white and black people are living like institutional racism never existed.
But y’all already know this. Y’all are just taking shots at Marty because he said the spandex movies y’all love so much are not cinema. It’s quite pathetic.

YARN Story: Look at that. What in Christ's name is that? | 5668b692-b337-47a8-afa2-d29f40bebbfc
YARN clips are added to a playlist to tell a story.www.getyarn.io
But let me guess, all these scenes were necessary and pertinent to the overall plot.
Please defend this and look even more pathetic than me. lol
I don't want him to do anything. I'm just pointing out the history you are juelzing to explain. I see you couldn't find your way to explain those clips like you did American segregation. lolI’ confused. You claim Marty is a racist, but yet you want him to write prominent black characters.
You’re entitled posting history is that of a pro black militant in desperate need of white validation. That’s just weird.
And thank goodness he still is. Cinema would be a much dourer place without him.Scorsese still being alive is crazy
