I want to dap you but I have a suspicion you're the resident forum agent provocateur and I take this type of thing seriously.


But I agree. Interestingly, after reading Parting the Waters and a couple of other books about what went down at the time, I got a better view on King's motivations and this is directly related (besides the obvious righteous intentions and religion). I read the story about the White woman he was in love with at school. Obviously, it wasn't acceptable for them to marry and he ended up marrying Mrs. King. I'm not saying this was his main motivation or that he didn't love his wife and family, clearly, but apparently it was a factor.
