I think it was Bill Simmons that threw the theory out that I loved. Basically said that the more famous the comedians are the more people start kissing their ass and laughing at all of their jokes to the point they start to lose touch with what's truly funny. Kind of the same reason pretty chicks don't have personalities since dudes kiss their ass at whatever they say so they never have to fine tune that shyt.

This was ok but it wasn't vintage Martin though. At 50 years of age I guess I shouldn't have expected the "ole" Martin anyway.

Cut it off at the 30 min marl, barely got a laugh out of me.....Pretty sad really, he seemed very forced and overdoing it. Very simple comedy, and hard to watch at times.

Martin was always an amazing host, getting the crowd hyped and cutting up people in the crowd (the infamous Big Bird joke comes to mind and roasting the celebs in the balcony etc.), but to me he wasn't that great of a stand up so I'm not surprised that this wasn't good.

But what I meant overall was where does he fit in the realm of black standup comedian/specials. Cant put him in my top 10 because his specials are overall not great.
