I bought my last three through Verizon (2XL, 4XL, 6 Pro). Verizon's policy is a little weird. Phone needs to be completely paid off (in case someone was doing the installment payments), and anywhere from 30-90 days after the phone is either purchased or paid off, they'll approve the phone for carrier unlock. But looking around, it looks like people run into issues getting their phones unlocked. Other carriers have their own policies, but you're really at the mercy of whatever carrier you buy from as far as how easy it hard it's going to be.

If you really think you'll end up hopping around carriers before you switch phones, it's probably just worth the avoided headaches to just buy it unlocked up front.

I’ve only had 1 android phone.
I think it was a Samsung Note 8 or 9.

I never had a problem with the fingerprint sensor. Not that I can remember. After that I got my current iPhone.

Sometimes I wonder how real some of these problems are.

Does the iPhone really overheat?
Does the google fingerprint sensor not work?

Or does this happen rarely and people who whine, whine the loudest?

I just got the Pixel 7 Pro last yr and can't fathom seeing a reason to upgrade so soon or that they made enough chances for me to tell the difference.
