fair enough...Im just sayin

You can't say Rex's decision to pair an emo Sanchez with Holmes, Plax and Derrick Mason was a good idea?

Peyton laughed at the Jets when they reached out to him because of the coach.

got people like @Trip thinking all it takes is a good qb and his team will magically be better in a second. shyt doesnt work like that.

While i agree with your point (I actually think building an O-line is more important then anything), i cant throw that theory out the window completely. When Rodgers went down last year he had his team at 5-2. They went on to a 2-5-1 run without him and then won the last game (and division) with him. Rodgers makes the Packers team better period. No way they go 2-5-1 if he was playing.

But i do agree with ur point.

people miss this point

rex was trying to put a square peg in a round hole
mark sanchez numbers in the playoffs are better than, say, matt ryan's or philip rivers

rex was building a defense-oriented team, and it worked for a while.

some point later on, rex done lost the team, that much is true.

but that doesnt excuse ungrateful new york fans, who were so thirsty for a good qb they werent impressed with winning by defense :mindblown: beggar cannot be choosers

so in the future Id LOVE to see rex to go on to the steelers or something as a DC, build a great defense and knock off the jets every time with defense. meanwhile jets would draft a 'franchise qb' and wont do shyt every time :blessed: but the new york fans will prolly be happy because they'll have the illusion of competitiveness.

he's gonna get more comfortable. just wait. he was younger and emotionally immature. when he made a mistake and his team would give him the dirty eye, he would get down on himself and shyt would snowball. rex tried to stop that by coddling him which only made things worse. then the tebow shyt made him try too hard with a weak cast of characters and made him snowball even more and then they fukk his shoulder up putting him in a meaningless game behind a 3rd string line.

the jets organization sabotaged this kid's career. thats why we will never have a franchise qb. we dont deserve one. the fans have as much to do with it as the team because we turn on people way too fast. the guy is gone and look at how much hate he still gets from my fellow jets fans. impatient and hateful fans + NY Media + bad coaching + young emotionally immature qb = butt fumble.

that said, mark will never be an elite qb, but he isnt trash either. he's somebody u can work with because he is a hard worker. the right coach and right system and he can be the number 1 qb for years.

my money is him starting playoff games for the eagles this year.

oh yea, he has a 94 qbr in the playoffs and 4 road playoff wins. enjoy eagles brehs. :wow:

It's become pretty clear Rex isn't a head coach. He's on his second QB and he looks just as lost, if not more(actually way more than Sanchez) ever looked. Rex never built anything here...he was never building through defense. He inherited a veteran win now team, installed his defense and won some games. Since the loss to the Steelers in the title game(where his defense failed to show up) the Jets have basically been a mess. That's what Rex built.

Chip is an offensive mind. He's more patient with Sanchise. Rex was a defensive mind and everytime Sanchise made a mistake Rex was harder on him and it affected his mental. Chip is going to show the NFL that Sanchise isn't Mr. Buttfumble anymore. The Eagles logged in their best performance last night and scored the most post of the season. This is with our Starter going down for probably the rest of the season.

People act like the Jets defense was putting up 110 and 120 passer ratings on Beli and Tomlin's defense on the road in the playoffs that last year. Mark has some low moments in his career but go back and watch those playoff runs, especially his 2nd year. He was the best player on the Jets. The defense got them there, but except his first game against Peyton, Mark was the reason they won those games.

The commentary his first two seasons was always "you know, the kid doesn't get rattled. He has great nerves. He'll have a bad game and come right back the next. He makes mistakes but he'll win you some football games if the chains come off too." Then year 3, they trade away the receiving core, let Green take all the running snaps...into the ground. And the defense lets ppl go. Now you HAVE to rely on Mark with a mediocre offense and a fading D. He want good enough to be the focus of a defense. He still needed a run game, especially with the lame receivers he had. Year 4 saw more of the same and then the O line got even worse with moving lineman to new positions and shyt. Now he's getting blown up for almost 2 seasons straight with no one to run the ball and no one to pass it to.

Commentary changed to "He has no confidence. He's soft. Theres just too much pressure for him etc" and I'm like, so his first 2 seasons he "performs great under pressure" now he can't cut it and take the pressure? fukk outta here. The team sucked, they never took the chains off him and opened the play book because the offensive schemes were shyt. The offense was shyt, and then the defense was shyt too. He was never a great qb, but under those circumstances he was good until it was him or bust. That's when he went to straight doo doo.

New team, new coach, a place that actually has the wherewithal to nurture a young qb of nothing else. Mark can make plays. He's an average qb that can give you great moments here and there. He did it with the Jets, he can damn sure do it with another team. It's just one game, he could suck the next two weeks but he probably won't and will further prove that the Jets are a shyt organization and have no clue what to do with a young quarter.
