Thank Mark Cuban For Starting The Right Conversation About Race - The Root

Cuban tweeting articles of c00ns defending him to sway the public's opinion.

:beli:

:dwillhuh: it's a damn shame how the targets of a bias and stereotype, is defending a person encouraging it

He seems to be coping quite well with his fear of black guys in hoodies, or he would have cut most of his own players.

“Categories,” as Tolerance.org explains, “give order to life.” So biases can be helpful.
Negative biases are the building blocks for stereotypes and prejudices. We adopt and hold most of them implicitly, meaning that we don't realize the significance of what we've learned.

But let's not confuse ourselves about Cuban's bigotry. It doesn't come from the strain of unrepentant, "men of a certain age" racism expressed by Sterling, in no small part because Sterling institutionalized his bigotry in his business practices. Cuban, by any account, has committed no such sin.

Cuban is like every other American. He has biases.

The conscious efforts to slip in and out of "sophisticated" and "educated" reasoning, while in the middle of your point of view, has been part of the frustration in these types of discussions

-Categorizing Sterling's views as a stereotype of an "expiring and temporary" culture, while comparing it to Cuban's bias view, which is the prerequisite to a Sterling view, all in an attempt to suggest that Cuban's bias is not as bad as Sterling's view is ridiculous and this author should be ashamed of himself

-He points out how Cuban made the decision to cope well with his fear, regarding his basketball players when it benefited him. But later, he tries to downplay the "decision making" process of giving into your bias with a generic claim of we adopt and hold bias implicitly:beli:

-Categorizing is a natural human act. But so is taking a shyt, but yet we don't hear or experience situations where your friends shytting on your bed or colleagues shytting on your desk at work because you made the decision of what is right / wrong behavior. So why is it acceptable to embrace a hand's off view and "we don't really have too much control" view to a human's natural act to categorize

-Categorizing is subject to conditioning. So if you're conditioned to view an entity in a negative, but still find it useful, you will make the decision to slip in and out of "sophisticated" and "educated" reasoning to cope with your fear

-Why are there certain subjects and views generally embraced universally as being correct, like hatred towards pedos, and others are not? simply because the universal subject affects most humans, while another subject may affect some. And if that the some is not a socio-economically powerful entity, then the some will experience the decision of inconsistent educated reasoning towards their plight

TYRONE GA!
lol @ this shyt.

But Cuban is a smart dude and should have known better than the choice of words he used. I don't think he's a racist, but this underlying fear of black men by pale skins is something we've always known cacs had. Just wish others (cacs) would stop frontin and say the same shyt.

I do agree with Cuban in the fact that we do need to talk about this shyt more and stop beating around the gotdamn bush.
