I don't understand this new age thinking where we initially give celebratory props for someone being out front rather than hidden with their racism rather than initially confronting their racism. Concealed or open, it's to be confronted.

I'll never understand this way of thinking. Why is it when WE are being discriminated against, etc, it's WE that need to do something amongst ourselves...No dawg, it's time THEY have a discussion on why THEY feel that way and why THEY stereotype against something as common as a black person in a hoodie but the white person has to be to the farthest extreme. But THEY can't because THEY get caught up all in THEIR feelings and privilege and try to turn from a "them" argument into an "us" or all "encompassing" discussion. I bring it up all the time in running threads. As liberal and fwd thinking as DC/NoVA claims to be, I can be running and a white woman will jump damn near out of her skin to get off the trail.
