This is the crux of the matter. The union plays little role in the long term care of these men that put their futures on the line for the sport. It’s absolutely disgusting given the revenue generation.

Contrary to popular belief, the players actually have access to all of that stuff. The hard part is getting the players to take advantage of it. In Barber's case I'm not sure what happened but I'm sure he wasn't getting the care he needed. You gotta have people around you to make sure you're getting help because most people won't go willingly.

REST IN PEACE to him, but what do you think Dez's point was? Outside of Mental Health professionals, what could people have done for him. "People don't care" comment sounds like there is something that sports fans and regular people could have done to help him.

Well he probably meant their fellow peers. And look at how mark Cuban and others rallied to help Delonte West. You can't always help but it seems Dez thinks more could've been done.
