REST IN PEACE to him, but what do you think Dez's point was? Outside of Mental Health professionals, what could people have done for him. "People don't care" comment sounds like there is something that sports fans and regular people could have done to help him.
Probably referring to the cowboys organization/nfl. After that money dries up the nfl doesn't do much to pay for these dudes health/mental health unless it's something significant . And even then, vets often have to fight for every penny.

Way too soon. Wayzata, MN and University of MN Gophers legend. Him and Maroney as a combo at the college level was something else

His Pro Bowl year as the 4th qtr RB in Dallas closing out games was amazing

This is the crux of the matter. The union plays little role in the long term care of these men that put their futures on the line for the sport. It’s absolutely disgusting given the revenue generation.
Godspeed to barber and his family.

shyt just makes younger kids, who grew up watching Football knowing about CTE, if this shyt is just worth it to play. I mean the original motive was, "I may get CTE, but at least I will make Money.", but you see these football players who were good... leave the league, broke, getting arrested and then dying. And with Dez's comment, it just hits home, your either a big time superstar now or your career is over... and really you don't have a good post-career support system because organizations just really care about you when your playing but don't care AFTER it's over... maybe a fan autograph signing, but not much after.
